Family House is an excellent base for exploring the Upper Savinja Valley and the surrounding area. Shops, restaurants and a petrol station are three kilometres away, with walking and cycling routes all around, and fishing, canyoning, climbing, horse riding and paragliding down in the valley.

A flower park and open-air museum above Mozirje. Flowers in spring and summer, a giant pumpkin show in autumn and a Christmas fairy tale in December.

A ski resort and mountain plateau above the valley, reached by cable car. Skiing in winter, views and cycling trails in summer.

The nearest river beach is a few kilometres away. Fishing and canyoning are also possible in the valley.
